There is much much damage and many pieces missing but enough remains to give a sense of the original and the epic battle scenes portrayed.

The Aleppo room. This was the ornate reception room from a broker's home in Aleppo, Syria.  Not as old as the other structures it was commissioned during the Ottoman Period  ( Aprox. 1500 ~ 1900 AD)

We are accustomed to seeing ancient statuary and stonework that is void of color beyond the natural color of the stone itself. Yet the ancients did make much use of the colors they had, limited though the pallet may have been. But the stone has often outlived the paints and stains that were available.

In the gates above the color was baked into the bricks and we can see how much the color was valued.

While I can't say much for the quality of this artwork these smaller pieces interested me because at least a hint of the original color lingers on. It's fun to imagine what they looked like when they were first made.

This is a model of a building called the Etemenanki. Most artistic representations of the tower of Babel show a round structure but this building with a square layout is a likely basis for the story of that tower. The squat structure does not at first seem so awesome by modern standards but look closely at the tiny representations of people near the bottom of the steps. This structure is believe to have been about 300 feet tall. Thirty stories is tall in any age, especially when you have no steel girders or cranes to build with.
